Electric Go Cart

An electric go cart has the same racing cart feel as gas powered, but no noise and no pollution.

Electric Go Cart Vs. Gasoline Powered

An electric go cart (also electric go kart) is very similar to its gasoline engine cousin, the standard go kart.  People generally choose an electric go cart over a gasoline engine for one of several reasons.  Most commonly it’s either the noise (gas powered go carts are loud, electric go carts are quiet), the speed (gasoline powered go carts are generally more powerful, and faster than electrics — too fast for the liking of many parents), or it’s the environment.  Sometimes it’s all 3!

Whatever your reason for considering buying an electric go cart, know that there are a lot of excellent ones on the market.  The speeds attainable with electric go carts are generally between 10 and 15mph, which is certainly fast enough for a thrill, but tame enough to stay relatively safe.

Electric Go Cart Options From Razor

Among the options are several from Razor like the Razor Ground Force Electric Go-Kart.

The Razor Ground Force, with it’s steel frame construction, aluminum wheels and 4 1/2 inch rubber tires can run at speeds up to 12mph.  It’s powered by two 12 volt rechargeable batteries and a quiet chain-drive electric motor.  A full charge lasts for approximately 45 minutes of drive time.  The variable speed accelerator and the brake are both hand operated.

Then there’s the Razor Ground Force Drifter Kart.

Like the Ground Force on which it’s based, the Ground Force Drifter is an electric go cart which employs a pair of 12 volt batteries coupled with a chain drive electric motor, runs for 45 minutes on a charge, can attain a speed up to 12 miles per hour and has a hand accelerator and brake.  The features that make set the Drifter its own unique animal are its race-optimized chassis and super-slick rear wheels from whence the “Drifter” gets its name.  Those slick rear tires let the driver power slide through corners, fish-tailing and performing fast 180s.  Both the Ground Force and Ground Force Drifter are advertised as being appropriate for drivers 8-years-old and older who weigh up to 140 lbs.  Both are equipped with a shoulder seat belt.

The Electric Go Cart Dune Buggy Option

Also from Razor is the Razor Dune Buggy.

The Razor Dune Buggy’s tubular frame is all steel construction.  It’s got a 350 watt electric motor that allows this cart to travel around 9 to 10 miles per hour.  It has a weight capacity that is greater (up to 220 lbs.) and larger (8 inch) knobby pneumatic tires meant for traction for off-roading and mild climbing situations.  It’s got a padded bucket seat and should strap as well as a side roll cage to offer extra protection.
