Kids Go Karts
Kids go karts are hugely popular, not only in the US but around the world. Go karts have been around since the mid-1950s and, although the designs and features have become more sophisticated (many have high quality features like role bars, disc brakes and reverse gears), the basic idea remains the same as demonstrated by the picture below.
The kart above, widely believed to be the original prototype kart, was designed and built by Art Ingels. Ingels has been dubbed the “father of karting” and is credited with the invention of the go kart. Modern kids go karts like the one below, as you can see, still keep the same concept.
Kids Go Karts – Modern Karting
Go kart tracks can now be found in just about every major city. Track Karts are designed to look operate like mini flat track racing cars. The tires are wide and relatively smooth and the wheel base is wide to allow the karts to go around turns at higher speeds. But just like every kart is not a kart for kids, track karting is not the only modern application of kids go karts.
There are also several models of kids go karts such as those made by Manco (American SportWorks), Goped and other manufacturers that are designed for off track and even off road operation.
Go-Ped Super Go Quad
There are also other vehicles like ATVs, Four-Wheelers and mini bikes that, while not your traditional kids go karts, fall into the same category of automotive adventure sport vehicle.
